Biographical note

Emily Isabel Pritham was born about 1832 at Saco, Maine. She married William H. Whitten in 1865, and moved to the Boston area of Massachusetts. She worked in mills before her marriage, and ran a boarding house afterwards. Emily and William had six children: Ida Jane, Ernest, Agnes, Mary "Mamie", William, Jr., and Susan "Susie". Emily Whitten died in 1911.
