Contains files created and maintained by John Larner, Director of Public Relations from 1958-1970. Larner's files include press releases he authored; reports, statistics, and correspondence from schools and departments sharing their accomplishments; newspaper clippings of resulting press; and photographs. Photographs that pre-date Larner's directorship originated with his predecessor in the Office of Public Relations, as well as the Office of Admissions and the Office of General Publicity.

Processing Information

Larner's files were orderly, and the groupings he created have been maintained. His Commencement photograph files were removed from the records some time prior to processing in 2024 and can be found in the Boston College Commencement materials, BC.1988.027, John J. Burns Library, Boston College. Additional Public Relations Office Commencement materials can be found in the Central Office Files series of this collection.
