Burns Library Archival Collections

Recordings of events organized by the Gaelic Roots Music, Song, Dance, Workshop, and Lecture Series at Boston College, founded in 2003 by Séamus Connolly. The Series brings together accomplished performers and experts in Irish, Scottish, American, and related folk music traditions to share their experience, knowledge, and talent with the Boston College community and beyond.

Consists of diaries, scrapbooks, correspondence, reports, and publications. The diaries and scrapbooks document the School's history during the tenures of deans Walter McGuinn, SJ and Dorothy L. Book. The collection also contains files on special projects and programs, such as work with the Peace Corps and the School's anniversary celebrations.

Materials also document director Francis W. Sweeney, SJ's lifelong relationship with prominent writers, theologians and academics of the 20th century.

Composed of materials related to 20th-century Jesuit theologian and Boston College professor Bernard Lonergan, SJ, and the workshop series and center established at Boston College in honor of his work. Includes Lonergan Workshop brochures and flyers, ephemera from the inauguration of the Lonergan Center at Boston College, and obituaries, tributes, and a mass program honoring Lonergan at the time of his death in 1984.

These records document an interview project conducted by the Boston College Office of Marketing Communications during the Alumni Association's Reconnect event in 2009. The interviews include alumni recollections of their student years and experience of participating in AHANA student programs in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as accounts of their career paths following graduation.
