James O'Brien collection of Emerald Isle Classic material
The material collected by Boston College alumnus James O’Brien documents the Emerald Isle Classic college football game in 1988. Contains correspondence, photographs, ephemera, and clippings. Some material also concerns Dublin’s millennium celebration.

John O'Brien papers
This collection contains letters belonging to John O'Brien, a Catholic priest who founded The Sacred Heart Review, including his own correspondence and those that he collected. Of note is a letter signed by the Irish politician Daniel O'Connell. Also included is a facsimile of a Protestant oath.

Richard A. O'Brien, SJ photograph album and other materials
The photograph album contains photographs of Rev. Richard A. O'Brien, family members, priests, Boston College students, and Boston College athletics. The sports materials (all circa 1916-1923) consist mainly of photographs of the football and track teams but also include important hockey and baseball images. The collection also contains a publication entitled Humoresque which was produced by members of the class of 1925 and presented to O'Brien.
Photocopying and most other forms of reproduction are restricted because of the fragile condition of the original materials.
The poetry and thoughts of Robert David O'Brien, SJ: typescript
Unpublished collection of the poetry of Robert David O'Brien, SJ. Most of the poems are dated from 1935 through 1940. The collection was compiled and edited by Betty Griffin, who dedicated the edition to O'Brien's mother and sister.

Boston College collection of Sean O'Casey
This collection documents Irish playwright Sean O'Casey's business, personal, and political activities through his correspondence. The collection also contains letters from his wife, Eileen, and son, Breon, to friends and business acquaintances regarding O'Casey. In addition, one flyer for the 1930 film adaptation of O'Casey's Juno and the Paycock, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, is included.

The collection is composed of family photographs, correspondence, genealogical research, writings and notes, and records of the American Irish Historical Society. The bulk of the material relates to the history of Irish Catholics in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Seán O'Faoláin collection
The collection contains correspondence to and from Seán O'Faoláin, manuscripts of stories which appeared in published form as Tales and Stories (1966) and clippings about O'Faoláin's autobiography Vive Moi!. The collection also includes a typed and annotated essay by Julia O'Faoláin.

Jean Heitz collection of Mary O'Hara
This collection documents Irish singer and harpist Mary O'Hara's musical career and early retirement years in Tanzania with her husband Padraig O'Toole through their correspondence with friend and neighbor in England, Jean Heitz. Heitz also collected and kept clippings, ticket stubs, publicity materials, fan club mailings, and photographs relating to O'Hara.

Collection is open for research. Audiovisual recordings and born-digital content have been digitally copied from source media; all original media were retained, but may not be played due to format. Digital use copies can only be accessed in the Burns Library Reading Room. O'Hara's scrapbooks are closed due to fragility. Personal correspondence with Adrian Hastings and Deirdre Kelleher is restricted until 2025.
Timothy O'Keeffe correspondence
The collection contains correspondence between Irish editor Timothy O'Keeffe and seven Irish authors: Brendan Behan, J.P. Donleavey, Michael Farrell, Austin Clarke, Sean O'Casey, James Plunkett and Francis Stuart. Most of the letters discuss the work of the individual writers. The collection also includes short manuscripts by Behan, Farrell and Plunkett.

Myles O'Malley papers
This collection documents highlights in the public career of saxophonist and whistle player Myles O'Malley, who was known as the "Tin Whistle King." The collection consists primarily of photographs. It also includes audio recordings, correspondence, fliers, graphic materials, musical instruments, music manuscripts, news clippings, and royalty statements from Decca Records.

Kevin O'Neill papers
These papers document the scholarly interests of Boston College faculty member and co-founder of the Irish Studies Program, Kevin O'Neill, through his correspondence; collected Northern Ireland political posters and press releases from government agencies; and original interview recordings of Northern Irish politicians. O'Neill's papers also document the growth of the Boston College Irish Studies program during his time as director through correspondence and program ephemera.
Collection is open for research. The video recordings on Umatic videocassette are not available for playback due to format impermanence and can not be reformatted by Burns Library at this time. Tip O'Neill congressional papers
Composed of correspondence, publications, photographs, audio tapes, videocassettes, artifacts, newspaper clippings, and scrapbooks of Speaker Tip O'Neill. Most of the material relates to O'Neill's career in Congress, and documents his views on such issues as the Vietnam War, Watergate, and relations with Ireland. Also includes papers of O'Neill's staff, files of Democratic Committees, and some letters of late twentieth-century presidents.

Mary Boyle O'Reilly papers
The Mary Boyle O’Reilly papers document her work as a journalist and political activist, particularly during World War I. They include O’Reilly’s correspondence from Europe during the war, her typescripts, a small series of individually typed or handwritten poems, many with inscriptions from O'Reilly's friends, and family photographs.
Collection contains some original materials too fragile to handle. Access copies have been provided for most, but the correspondence series is closed pending conservation. Box 1 contains open materials. Box 2 contains fragile materials and is closed.
