The papers of William J. Meehan, Boston College Class of 1939, document his career as an aviator in the Navy during World War II, and his death in action in 1944.

Record of the military enrollment status of the adult male population of Newton, Massachusetts, compiled and signed by the town assessors, Isaac Hagar, Eben Woodward, and Otis Pettee, and dated 27 June 1863. Of 1,272 men listed, 315 are identified as serving, including many with the 44th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry or other state volunteer regiments. The occupations of men exempt from military service requirments are also given.

These papers document the scholarship of Jesuit Peter Milward, SJ through printed articles, reviews, and some typescripts. The collection consists mainly of Milward’s work in English and Japanese literary studies, with an emphasis on Shakespeare.

Manuscript minute book recording the meetings held at the Lowell, Massachusetts State Armory of the Ninth Regiment, Infantry, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia, M Company, before and after their deployment to Cuba in 1898. Topics discussed include parades, drills, and social events such as banquets and sports, including "basket ball" (page 6).

Collection of materials related to Irish author George Moore (1852-1933), including an annotated typescript of Heloise and Abelard, correspondence, and an article.

Contains materials regarding the life of early twentieth-century English author D.H. Lawrence, which belonged to literary critic and biographer Harry T. Moore. These include drafts of Alan Plater's screenplay for Priest of Love, based on Moore's biography of the same name, and an index of the letters of D.H. Lawrence compiled by Joe Martin. There is also a press packet for the Priest of Love film.

Collection relating to the Irish nineteenth-century poet Thomas Moore from 1813-1833 including his letters, an annotated clipping, a manuscript fragment of Lalla Rookh, and portrait engravings of Moore. The letters concern a variety of subjects including his publications and an account of a discussion with Sir Francis Rawdon (Earl of Moira and Lord Hastings) about India.

Materials collected by Robert F. Morey from then-Senator John F. Kennedy's participation in the 1956 Boston College Commencement, including his honorary degree hood and his annotated speech.

Correspondence between American author Charles Morris and publishing companies, regarding his requests to use passages from a variety of books. Letters were addressed to and from his home in Philadelphia during 1885-1890.

Photographs taken by American ophthalmologist Arthur M. Morrissey documenting his time spent in Haiti from the 1960s through the 1980s. The images were primarily taken in Port-de-Paix and Tortuga, and depict scenes of daily life of Haitian people, Haitian landscapes and seascapes, as well as Morrissey's time working in a medical clinic.

Irish political satire, ephemera, and artworks from the collection of twentieth-century American political cartoon enthusiast Anthony J. Mourek. The collection includes drawings, etchings, newspaper clippings, and to a lesser degree fliers and posters. Mourek also acquired materials relating to siblings Elizabeth Corbet, Jack B., Lily, and W.B. Yeats and their fine print press, Cuala Press.

Composed of correspondence to John James Munro, twentieth century Shakespeare scholar, author, and editor, which discusses both personal and professional matters. Includes a letter from the Shakespeare Institute at the University of Birmingham.

This collection documents the professional and personal life of John E. Murphy, SJ, a twentieth-century Jesuit and professor of Irish Literature at Boston College. The bulk of the papers consists of religious materials and subject files used for his research and lectures. Of note are a small collection of Irish fine print press cards from Dun Emer and Cuala Press.
