Narrative of the life of the Italian Jesuit Dominico Valesio (1581-1615).
Bound manuscript of 98 pages, the first 6 and last 7 of which are blank, writen in a humanistic script. Title in a different early hand, affixed to fourth leaf. The text is divided in 35 chapters and written in the first person by a narrator personally familiar with Valesio. Possibly written in Český Krumlov, Bohemia, where Valesio died in 1615.

Consists of a nineteenth century photographic reproduction of a daguerreotype portrait of Daniel Webster. The photograph was produced by Frederick Gutekunst of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The collection also includes Webster's signature on a paper fragment and a hair cutting.

West Africa Scrapbook
The scrapbook contains a manuscript and artwork by Thomson and photographs of Thomson. The volume also includes clippings from publications by uncredited authors and an article by H. H. Johnston. The materials relate to Thomson's and other individuals' travels in West Africa in the late 19th century with an emphasis on the riverways ending in the Gulf of Guinea, in what is modern day Nigeria and Cameroon.

Materials include small handmade books of fables detailing the adventures of American boys, several school compositions, sketchbooks, and a two-year run of a weekly handwritten satirical newspaper, "The Sober Giggler."

Mary Johanna Rhodes Wild diary
Diary of Mary Johanna Rhodes Wild, detailing her daily life in Brookline, Massachusetts, as the wife of homeopathic doctor Charles Wild. Wild discusses housekeeping, finances, and marital discord, as well as her reading, occasional travels, and circle of friends and family. The volume includes 12 pages of a diary by her mother, Mary Throop Cushing Rhodes.

Joseph J. Williams, SJ ethnological collection
The Joseph J. Williams, SJ ethnological collection documents the research interests of Williams, a Jesuit priest who studied the history and culture of the Caribbean and Africa. It includes over four thousand handwritten stories about the African folk character Anansi, as well as anthropological manuscripts; correspondence; engravings; financial, legal, and shipping documents; newspapers; and government reports, all dating from the sixteenth to the twentieth centuries.
Collection open for research except for Series I, which is closed due to fragility. However, portions of the collection--including Series I-- are available digitally.

Daily diary of Nicholas M. Williams's thirty-day retreat at Loyola College, undertaken as part of his Jesuit formation in Febrary-March 1860. Williams records daily rituals, meditations, and readings, and notes inspirational quotations and "good resolutions."
