Narrative of the life of the Italian Jesuit Dominico Valesio (1581-1615).
Bound manuscript of 98 pages, the first 6 and last 7 of which are blank, writen in a humanistic script. Title in a different early hand, affixed to fourth leaf. The text is divided in 35 chapters and written in the first person by a narrator personally familiar with Valesio. Possibly written in Český Krumlov, Bohemia, where Valesio died in 1615.

West Africa Scrapbook
The scrapbook contains a manuscript and artwork by Thomson and photographs of Thomson. The volume also includes clippings from publications by uncredited authors and an article by H. H. Johnston. The materials relate to Thomson's and other individuals' travels in West Africa in the late 19th century with an emphasis on the riverways ending in the Gulf of Guinea, in what is modern day Nigeria and Cameroon.
